AS THE RIVER RISES -  Inspired by the fierce resilience of northern NSW residents who suffered deeply, when in early 2022, the northern rivers experienced its biggest flood in modern history. Many Australians were still reeling from the impact of bushfires when flood waters hit.

“When you start looking there are so many areas in Australia affected by natural disasters. Heroes and hardship everywhere. I wanted to offer the reader a glimpse into the suffering and heroics of a small town in flood, the people who push on and those who put themselves at risk to care for others,” This novel addresses the rural doctor shortage and the hope in the face of natural disasters, but – there’ll always be sunshine at the end of the storm.
